Although several of our students have graduated and moved on to career positions, we still have storm chasing students among us. Shawn Honomichl and Lisa Phillips visited the Alliance, Nebraska area on June 7, 2010 and captured some great lightning photos and the clouds that generated a tornado warning for the area around Alliance. The photos were taken about 8 miles northwest of Alliance. On June 10, Shawn, Lisa, and another M.S. student, Phillip Stauffer, traveled northward and encountered the storm that created much destruction to the little town of Dupree, SD.
