The first clouds of advancing storms often appear at several levels. Three
species of Cirrus and a Cirrocumulus cloud can be seen here: fine strands
of Cirrus uncinus (top); Cirrocumulus lenticularis (lower streak cloud);
and below those clouds, Cirrus castellanus (left) and Cirrus spissatus
(horizon, left to right).
