Students Receive Scholarships
Phillips recipient of Kate Simmons-Teskey
Award
Lisa
Phillips, White Bear Lake, Minnesota, has been awarded a
$6,000
Kate Simmons-Teskey Fellowship for AY 2009-2010.
This award is presented to US citizens who have demonstrated high academic
achievement as an undergraduate student and have met the entrance
requirements of the SDSM&T graduate program. Lisa is working under the
direction of Dr. Mark Hjelmfelt.
Honomichl
receives Nelson Award
Shawn
Honomichl, BSIS-ATM senior from Wagner, SD, has been awarded a $2,700 Nelson Graduate Award.
Shawn has been an undergraduate research assistant under faculty advisors
Dr. P.V. Sundareshwar and Dr. Randall Benson, and currently works as a lab
technician in the Biogeochemistry Core Facility at SDSMT. He was selected
to attend the 2008 National Center for Atmospheric Research Undergraduate
Leadership Workshop in Boulder, CO, where he presented a seminar.
